The Monika Korra Foundation is Working to Kill the Silence Surrounding Rape & Abuse, and Assisting Victims from All Forms of Traumatic Events

THE NEED

Together, we need to stand up against sexual assault and help others struggling from any kind of traumatic event.

We need to help victims feel safe to report crimes, we need to provide sufferers from trauma with the tools needed to heal and we need to better educate and equip our culture so that no forms of sexual assault are accepted.

THE TRUTH

Every 2 minutes, another American is sexually assaulted.  Even more frequent are other violent events that cause trauma.

There are an average of 267,868 victims (age 12 and older) of sexual assault each year.  44% of victims are under age 18.

The numbers are shocking and the wounds are deep.

THE STORY

In 2009, college sophomore and SMU track star, Monika Kørra, was walking with friends when she was abducted at gunpoint and brutally raped by three men.

Within hours of being freed, Monika resolved that she would not be a victim—she was going to be a survivor, and she was going to help others.
